The Benefits of Supporting Small Businesses

Updated: Feb 7

When you support a small business, you're helping a little girl get dance lessons, a little boy get his team jersey, and the mom and dad put food on the table.

In this time, supporting small businesses is more important than ever. Everything from your local coffee shop, boutique, flower shop, local photographer, restaurant - they all rely on your love and support to keep on doing what they do. Chances are you'll benefit from supporting them more than you even realize.

Top of the Line Customer Service

There is nothing quite like the customer service you receive when you shop/support a small business. They truly care about each and every person that purchases their products/services and want to make sure they are well taken care of. I always know when I walk into a small business I know I am going to be greeted with a smiling face and a helpful hand. It is no surprise that they treat their customers wonderfully, as they want you to come back and tell all your friends about them.

Product Diversity

When you shop at your average Walmart, Target, or Starbucks you know exactly what to expect and never get the joy of experiencing anything new as you should when shopping small businesses. Drinking a coffee at a locally owned coffee shop or shopping at a local boutique is going to be very different. They are going to have coffees and pastries that are unlike anything you've ever tasted before. They're also going to have products on their shelves that are diverse, well-made, and probably unlike anything you've ever seen. If you're anything like me, you probably aren't going to walk out empty-handed.

Keep Your Community Unique

Local businesses give your community its flavor. Without them, there wouldn't be anything that made your community unique and alive. Think of that breakfast place you went to on Sunday mornings after church with your family. Chances are that place holds a special place in your heart and you will never forget the memories you made there.

Locally owned businesses just simply do not compare to anything else. They are wonderful, unique and make your town go 'round.
