Wondering when exactly you should send out your wedding invitations? We've done the research, so you don't have to!
Many wedding things like color palette and food are completely up to you and your spouse, but there are some things like when to send your wedding invitations that are more important to follow.
Why the Timing You Send Your Wedding Invitations Matters
Sending your wedding invitations at the right time is more important than you may think. If you mail them too late, there's a chance your loved ones won't be able to give their work enough notice. If you mail them too early, there's a chance your guests will space your wedding. That is why you want to try to mail them at just the right time.
When to Send Your Wedding Invitations
Typically, wedding invitations should be sent out six to eight weeks before the wedding. This should give your guests enough time to clear your schedules. With this timing you are also able to request RSVPs about three weeks before your wedding. Also keep in mind, this timeline is best if you sent out Save the Dates to guests about six months before the wedding.
When to Send Your Wedding Invitations Without Save the Dates
Didn't send save the dates? No problem! Plan to adjust your wedding invitation timeline slightly in this case. Invitations could be sent out closer to the two-three month when you hadn't sent save the dates.
When to Send Your Wedding Invitations for a Destination Wedding
If you're having a destination wedding where you and all your guests will need to travel, you want to send your invitations even sooner. Destination wedding invitations should be sent about 2-3 months before the wedding.
