Cream Cheese Mint Recipe for Any Occassion

Updated: Aug 25, 2022

These are our favorite go-to mints for weddings, baby showers, birthday parties, retirement parties - you name it! They are delicious, soft, beautiful and they even melt in your mouth. They can be made with peppermint, vanilla, almond or really any flavor you want them to be. Our favorite is peppermint!

Grab your mom, your sister, your best friend and put your aprons on for a mint making extravaganza! It's time to gather your ingredients and your mixer and let's get started!

What You Need

  • 2 packages (6 oz) cream cheese

  • 2 tablespoons butter (softened)

  • 6 cups powdered sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper extract (or any other flavoring you may want)

  • Any color of food coloring

  • Granulated sugar to coat them with

Steps

  1. With an electric mixer, a food processor, or by hand mix together your softened cream cheese and butter. Next add in your powdered sugar. Mix carefully as the mixture will be dense and you do not want to burn out your mixer. Once the mixture forms into a ball add your peppermint extract and mix. If you want your mints to be colored add in your food coloring and mix one last time.

  2. Put mixed dough on your counter, roll into ropes, and cut them into the size of mints you would like. Roll the mints into balls and cover in granulated sugar (if desired).

  3. Place each ball onto wax paper and flatten them with a fork if you are going for a simple round shape. If you have mint molds be sure to cover them in granulated sugar, press them into the mint molds, and carefully pop them out.

  4. Let mints stand at least two hours and then place them into the fridge or freezer.

These mints are sure to be a crowd pleaser. Don't forget to taste test them yourself!
